 DESTINATION AFRICA

Building Personalized Bridges for Captivating and Epic Journeys & Adventures

Lynn is a native Californian with over 24 years’ experience in the travel industry, assisting clients to their dream destinations across the globe. She has traveled extensively around the world and was introduced to Malcolm Ainscough through a client and friend while planning a privately guided African safari with him for her own family. She co-ordinates trips from the United States; assisting with Travel Insurance requirements, pre-and post-Safari excursions, and other related traveler needs.

Lynn is  also activity involved in various charitable organizations and chooses to spend  much of her free time with groups  such as  Animal Rescue Foundaiton and  the National Charity League with a goal to increase her involvement in not-profit works benefitting the wildlife, conservation ,cultural and educational needs in Africa.

Lynn resides near San Francisco with her husband, has four children, and loves to travel…especially to Africa!

Getting ready to head out to Africa is such an exciting proposition! Less than 1 week away, and what have we done so far?

One: We have our Passports and Visas prepared, we use a Visa expediter to process them in advance saving time in line upon arrival at the airport if they are necessary . Passports need to have at least 6 months before expiration and plenty of blank pages for border crossings

Two: Have checked the CDC website and spoken to our doctors for immunization updates . If required, you may need boosters or Malaria tablets to be obtained by prescription from your physician or a travel doctor.

Three: Travel Insurance- Always recommended when traveling here to protect you from unforeseen issues

Now, the fun of Packing! A soft-sided duffle with no hard bottom to fit into the small charter-planes is the best bet. Only 44 lbs of luggage per person may be taken so the motto is Pack Light! Pack Light! Pack Light!

Using a packing list developed by our company and paying attention to the weather reports so you don’t bring too much. Laundry is done every day in the camps. Best advice: Dress in layers, only casual clothing, a good hat ( with a strap ) sunglasses & comfortable lightweight shoes.

Here are some photos for packing for a two- week Safari and a bag to use:

We are testing a bag that we will be offering to clients this year and so I will report back on that when I have more information.

If your bag doesn't have wheels attached, you could always bring some along!

Seasoned Advice: It is great to have a bag with straps to double as a backpack!

Packed and ready! Stay tuned for our latest adventure to begin in just a few more days!
